Molino Basin hiking east - to the saddle

Molino Basin - Hiking east to the Saddle - Part 3

The trail continues on up to the saddle, and the rock formations continue to get more interesting everywhere you look. When you're planning this hike, be aware that there's not very much shade available along this section of the trail, so it's best not to hike this section of the trail on a hot sunny day. This trail is probably best hiked November through mid April, depending on the year.

When you reach the saddle, you notice that there's a gate. You should leave the gate open if you find it open, and leave it closed if you find it closed. This is very important for the cattle that can be found east of the saddle.
