Scenic drive to Superior, Arizona - part 2 To get to superior, you drive up Highway 77 north past Oracle junction, and then up highway 79 north to highway 60 east. It's about a 2 hour drive from Tucson. Going north from Oro Valley, the Santa Catalina mountains are on the right and the Tortolita mountains. We arrived at Superior at about lunch time, so we found a restaurant on the west side of town, because we knew we had to backtrack a couple miles to get back to the arboretum after lunch. So we stumbled onto a small restaurant next to the worlds smallest museum, next to the Buckboard city cafe. We ordered some hamburgers and ate them out on the deck in front. They were just fine. While Sandi went over to tour the "worlds smallest museum", Pearl and I looked on. We used the restrooms and then headed off to the Boyce Thompson Arboretum which is located on the foothills of the Picketpost mountain. The day we went to superior was a beautiful day, there was a bit of a breeze.
