Backpacking Adventure - Day four part six - Feb 28 - Hiking down Romero Canyon Continuing on down Romero Canyon trail, you can see more views of beautiful, remote and rugged Montrose canyon. Lots of rock formations of all kinds and peaks which invite you to come and hike up to the peaks. Beacause of the time of day and the clouds, we weren't able to see much of Montrose creek, down at the apex of the canyon, but the views were nice enough of the rest of Montrose canyon that it made you want to come back and hike there another time. As we continued down the mountain trail, we noticed quite a bit more cacti, and lower elevation desert landscape plants with plenty of thorns everywhere, including the tall cacti that for Tucson is practically a trademark, the Saguaro cactus. Interesting rock formations on the trail and beyond are ever present. The grand sweeping vistas along this trail, help to make it a very pleasant hike.
